Brief Introduction
Part 1 – Show me how Islam and Christianity agree on some aspects of what it means to be human. You must draw on either the “A Common Word” document or the “Being in Human in Islam” article that we read for class (or both if you want) for Islam and on Genesis for Christianity.

Part 2 – Demonstrate the difference that the Christian view of Jesus makes for how Christians understand the task of living a full human life on this earth. You must draw on either Portier’s “Classical Christology” chapter or McCabe’s “Son of God” essay as you make your argument.

Part 3 – Think carefully about the story of Augustine and suggest at least 2 ways that his autobiography affirms what you discussed in Part 2. In other words, explain how the Christian view of Jesus affected Augustine’s understanding of what human life is all about.

Conclusion – Offer your own informed opinion on the difference that Christian views of Jesus make for what it means to be human. How different is the Christian perspective from the others we’ve seen so far in this course (Buddhism, Islam)? In other words, are they all saying basically the same thing? Justify your position with at least a couple of concrete points
