Gratitude letter

Gratitude letter

Gratitude letter is a form of demonstrating love and enhancing positive relationship among people or family members. These letters show that a person appreciates others and therefore helps to cultivate unity and positive coexistence among the family members.

In the book Behind Happy Faces, Ross Szabo shows how family members can cultivate warm relationships. The family is an important component of society that consists of parents: father, mother, son, daughter, grandfathers, grand mothers, sisters and brothers among others.  All these are important in ensuring that there is cordial relationship and that every member of the family is appreciated and loved.

My gratitude letter goes to my lovely father. Since I was young, you have shown me love. I have grown to adulthood feeling loved and cherished. You have supported me with all that is required and my success in life is attributed to you.  You have not only provided me with material needs but you have molded my way of thinking and you understood my feelings and attended to my moods. I remember emotional support you gave me when I was admitted in the intensive care unit following a kidney failure. That time you understood what I was going through and supported me by always accompanying me and assuring me that I will get well. I believed in your words as you said them deep from your heart. The fact that your work schedules were very tight, you found time for me, you went against the pride of your career as the love of a father made you sacrifice some of your precious time attending to me instead of other functions.

You are truly a father that every person would admire to have. I am not being bossy about this as it is a fact.  Many friends that I have come across have always complained about lack of love and affection by their fathers but I am lucky to find a father that always ensured that all the family members, both immediate and extend, had positive relationships. You did not support our family members alone but even extended your hand to provide motivation and even material support to other family members. I am optimistic that your contribution in encouraging people and motivating them to keep on fighting with challenges in life is not for granted and has transformed the life of many in our family.

I vividly remember the support and encouragement you provided my grandmother when she suffered a comma. You were always there with her showing her love and encouraging her that everything will be fine.  Touching people hearts, transforming and giving them hope of a bright future has always been part of you.

I also acknowledge your kindness that you have extended to the family members.  Few people in our society can demonstrate this virtue. You are a selfless father, a father that is always concerned about the needs and demands of others. This virtue has been evident in you severally through your physical, economical and psychological support.

You are indeed a role model in our family and it is a virtue or rather a strength that you have inculcated in me. I will always appreciate your role as a father in our family.  I hope that you receive this gratitude for being a father who has stood up to protect and ensure that we love one another and appreciate each other. Father, I will always love you and ensure that I follow your footsteps.
