How to Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

You are to select an everyday event and write a set of technical directions describing how to perform that task. For example, hypothetically, if you choose to compose “How to Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich,” consider the following:
(1) how do you spread each item on the bread? (2) was the bread pre-sliced? (3) how much of each does one place on the bread? (4) when the maker “places the bread together,” is that jelly side to the back of the piece
with the peanut butter? peanut butter side touching the jelly side? (5) did you take the bread out of a package? did you unscrew the jars open?
As you write your directions, I suggest you “test them” on a friend, spouse, child, or cohabitant. If that individual cannot perform the task (and ask that person to follow your written instructions EXACTLY), you need to re-think the manner in which your directions are phrased and presented.
Part of your assignment is deciding what “task” will fit on one page. Design and visual arrangement are important (as in a resume). Do not use images/photos. Directional symbols— such as arrows—are fine.
Be creative. Be specific. Have fun. Some of my favorite topics from previous semesters include “How to Draw a Bubble Bath,” “How to do a Push-up,” and “How to Change a Chinchilla Cage.” (You may not use those topics for your assignment.)
Tip: I will be playing “devil’s advocate” in examining and grading your direction set. Be precise and unambiguous with your language.
Note: You may not use FOOD or BEVERAGE for this assignment.
