Project Scope Statement
:

The aim of this project is to ensure that the organization develops a product that is relevant and adequate for use by the client. The development of the new product should also meet the client requirements and specifications.

Project Description:

The project is the development of new software for a furniture manufacturing company. This would enable them to increase their productivity through efficient and effective production processes.

Role Title
: Research and Development

Role Description:

Research and development about the various product ideas based on the needs and product specifications from the client. This is a basic role before further project activities in that; it is aimed at adequate research into the various products, which could be used by the client thus arriving at the most suitable product from the pool of product ideas (Larson, & Gray, 2011).

Responsibilities:

This team is tasked with conduct of adequate research about the various product ideas. In addition, the ideas should be evaluated to arrive at the best possible product idea, which is relevant for use, by the client. Furthermore, this team is tasked with generation of ideas based on the market trends and the available products within this market. Preferably, the group should be constituted of insightful and innovative individuals with experience in this field (Trott, 2008).

Role Title: Program Management

Role Description:

This part of the team is tasked with the role of evaluation of the various product ideas, which were researched and developed by the first group. This is usually based on evaluation of the benefits of use of a product idea for the furniture producing entity.

Responsibilities:

This part of the team is tasked with evaluation of the various product ideas and their relationship to the client needs and specifications. This involves the evaluation of the production costs of the various product ideas given to the entity. In addition, given that the organization set aside an expenditure budget of $67,500, the project would have to limit its expenditure to the provided funds. In essence, the program management team is tasked with the organization, directing and control of the availed entity resources for the success of the project. In addition, this group is tasked with ensuring that the project is completed within the stipulated timeline of 120days.

Role Title: Testing and Quality and Assurance

Role Description:

This is usually a focus group, which is aimed at evaluating the chosen product idea. This group is tasked with ensuring that the product developed meets the basic quality standards in the respective product market and is safe for use by the client.

Responsibilities:

This group screens the product through testing to ensure that the product is adequate for use by the client entity. In addition, this involves constant use of the product samples or the product prototypes before release into the market. In addition, this is aimed at ensuring that any defects within the computer program are identified before release into the market.

Role Title: Product Management

Role Description:

The role of this team is ensuring that the needs of the clients are met in the product development process. The task of this team is to ensure that the product meet consumer needs in satisfaction of their needs and wants (IBM, 2012).

Responsibilities:

This part of the group is tasked with several responsibilities. It is initially tasked with ensuring that the consumer needs will be satisfied by the new product. It is also aimed at ensuring that the product development process is in line with the consumer requirements and specifications.

Role Title: User Education

Role Description:

The team is tasked with ensuring that the user had adequate information, in terms of the conditions for use of the new product, and other basic functions of the product before transfer of ownership of the new product to the client.

Responsibilities:

This team is tasked with ensuring that the client has adequate information about use of the product. This ensures that the user or client of the program maximizes use of the product in satisfaction of the needs and wants.

Role: Logistics Planning

Role Description:

This team is tasked with ensuring that the delivery of the product is in line with the provided timeline for production. It is also tasked with the delivery of the raw materials for production as well as the final product to the consumer.

Responsibilities:

This group ensures that the needed materials for production are delivered in time for the production process. In addition, it ensures that other information is availed for the eventual delivery of the product to the consumer.
