In reference to my long-term desire and passion to pursue a degree in mathematics, I raise my interest for mathematic scholarship in your community college. At present, I am a second year engineering student who has passion and will of pursuing two years mathematic course to expand my proficiency in engineering course. Based on my experience, personal feeling, and attitude towards mathematics; I strongly believe that the program will help me attain my long-term desire of becoming one of the most prominent engineer and mathematician in the country. It is in this consideration that I am motivated to apply for this position because I believe that the scholarship will offer me an idea opportunity for expanding my knowledge and skills in mathematics and engineering courses. Throughout my high school and tertiary life, I have holistically participated in improving the quality of mathematic training among my college colleague. Moreover, I have successfully striven for academic success and I always capitalize on my education.

The scholarship is also highly relevant to me because education and especially training in mathematic remains a significant facet in my life. I am aspired to pursue a course in mathematic to the highest attainable level. Although I did not take mathematics and science subjects seriously in high school, I successfully managed to handle challenging courses including advanced placement calculus and English, advanced chemistry and physic.  My previous success in complicated courses highlights my ability of succeeding in advanced mathematic if granted the scholarship. It is interesting to account that despite dedicating much of my time to co-curriculum activities while in high school, I managed to attain a 3.97 grade point average that allowed me graduate as salutatorian.

Although I have prioritized education, so far I have engaged in other essential activities both within my society and in school. For example, I have held various leadership positions in high school, and have participated actively in the national honour society, and mathematics club. Participating in these activities has advanced my knowledge and experience for handling real life scenario. I have initiated several projects that are aimed at helping society advance the literacy level and develop the positive attitude towards science disciplines and mathematics. Throughout my endeavour, I have presented several papers in various academic levels. This has empowered me with adequate leadership and management experience that has particularly enhanced my time management skills. Furthermore, I have engaged in several practicum activities in various reputable institutions in order expand my professional proficiency.

Unfortunately, I have consistently lacked adequate resources for financing my studies despite my endless effort of consolidating and expanding my knowledge. In my earlier initiatives, I have fully relied on donors and well-wishers aid. In essence, I have faced financial challenges while in high school because my mother who was a single parent could hardly sustain the family’s need. Indeed, my mother failed to graduate from high school because she concentrated on taking care of me at my young age. This situation also affected my education because I never took my high school education with the seriousness it deserved, as I lacked adequate motivation from my parents.

In my high school level, I established mathematic club that targeting enhancing mathematic performance among students. The club also actively participated in educating students and public members on the significant of mathematic in their career development. During my tenure as the head of the club, the mathematic department experienced drastic transformations that advanced students performance in mathematics and other science courses. I was highly encouraged by the activity because it marked a step towards the realization of my dream of building a community that has high knowledge of mathematic. This is because working towards improving the society’s standards has constantly motivated me.

I realised the importance of education in my life after enrolling to the college. At this level, I developed the philosophy of doing extra ordinary things to meet my own interests. Furthermore, my interest in educated developed at this level where stated valuing the need excelling in academics in order to realize my dreams. Although I attempted many subjects at the college level, my main interest was mathematic. In my engineering course, I utilised mathematic skills to solve real life issues. I enjoyed tackling mathematic problems and I later realized that mathematic provided a wonderful career path. I encountered serious challenges will studying the subject; however, I am currently delighted for receiving my second year degree in engineering and mathematics. I am also inspired to further my education in aerospace engineering. I attribute my current academic success to my knowledge and passion in mathematics. Moreover, my mathematic professors are my heroes who have motivated me into pursuing the subject in order to attain success that matches their level.

My motivation towards work is enforced by my quest of seeing newborns progress in mathematic. However, I value the need of pursing the course to the highest level in order to be in a better position of empowering my community. Thorough my practicum activities, I have acquired a lot of real experience that enhances my capability of completing an engineering and mathematics course successfully. My experience and appealing academic performances in my previous academic level support the rational of selecting me as the most qualified candidate for this award. Furthermore, awarding me the scholarship will be a viable investment because I believe my activities will considerably improve the welfare of the entire community. For example, a part from aspiring of being a prominent engineer and renowned mathematician, my long-term plans entails lecturing mathematics related courses in higher learning institutions. It therefore becomes apparent that I will be among valuable asset for boosting mathematic performance both in high school and in institutions of higher learning.

I look upon becoming a fully registered mathematician and a valuable engineer in order to assist my clients perform tasks and responsibilities that are beyond their ability. Moreover, acquiring adequate knowledge on mathematic course will be very essential in boosting my engineering training and other related training. I am delighted for the opportunity that will offer me a chance of improving my skills in mathematics and other related sciences, enabling me realize my dream of improving my society’s standards by making effective use of the concepts from these disciplines. I will highly appreciate if considered for the scholarship.
