For those who prefer research over creative pursuits, this is your opportunity to propose a research project. The final paper submitted must be 2 pages and follow the same formatting guidelines as the other assignments outlined in the course syllabus. Some possible research topics include:
o Sexual infidelity and its implications in societies both modern and non-Western
o The decoration of one’s self: How other cultures see clothing
o How war is shaped by cultural assumptions, ideals, and imperialism
o Western attitudes towards multi-culturalism in a global world
o Why do we see an increasing accumulation of disproportionate wealth in the Western world?
o The social position of animals in different societies and cultures
If you are interested in this option, you must send an email with your proposed project to me by the end of the day on Wednesday, April 13th for approval.
I have also let students develop games as well. If you are interested in this option, let me know. I did not include it as I was not sure how this would work in an online environment.
