Personal Theoretical Paradigm Assignment
Theory not only explains and predicts phenomenon, it forms the scaffolding for the way data is interpreted and digested. We have discussed theory throughout the semester and you should be familiar with the ways each paradigm would view social phenomenon.
Please select an article from my Pearltrees account (www.pearltrees.com/jan0150) under any topic that interests you. Use your selected article to apply a theoretical paradigm (conflict theory, functionalism, symbolic interactionism, or feminist theory) that you think best explains your chosen topic as presented in the article. Since you will have to interpret an article as written, you will want to select an article that shares your theoretical view.
In your introductory paragraph, please state which article you have chosen (print and staple the article to your hard copy prior to turning it in) and which paradigm you will use to discuss the article. Then follow with a couple of paragraphs providing reasoning for specifically how the theory applies. Be specific, critical, and use the terms of your chosen theory. I am looking for depth of application.
Now include a paragraph for each of two paradigms you did not select. What aspects of these paradigms did not fit an analysis of your article and why? Again, use terms specific to each theory. Be specific and apply these paradigms.

DO NOT spend your time trying to make your paper look longer by adjusting the margins, font, or spacing. These changes are glaringly obvious when I read your paper and will result is lost points.
