You should write a paper describing your own educational philosophy. It is imperative that teachers have a well-developed philosophy on education prior to entering the classroom. Though a teacher’s philosophy might—and likely will—change over time, he/she should be aware of why they teach; knowing why one teaches affects how one teaches. Going into teaching without a philosophical underpinning is dangerous; it can and often does lead to teachers who simply reproduce the status quo, with all of its faults and thereby disempower and silence vast numbers of students.
