Use this chapter (Chapter 7)— “Understanding Conditions of Rebuttal” (pp. 143-145)—and perform a Toulmin analysis (pp. 130 – 147) of it. What central claim are the authors making, and what reasons and evidence do they provide? Do they use any qualifiers? What warrants and backing are involved? Write a few paragraphs explaining your analysis. Be sure to identify the key pieces of the argument (claims, evidence, warrants, qualifiers, backing, etc).
