Health Disparities
The purpose of this assignment is to identify a health disparity that affects your cultural assessment group. Identify the factors contributing to the health disparity, analyze the link between the determinants of health and the health disparity. Then lastly, make recommendations for change that includes on a practice level as well as social and political level. Working in the same groups.
• Identify a health disparity and describe how it impacts your cultural group.
• Describe some of the social issues that contribute to the health disparity
• Describe factors/determinants that contribute to the health status that includes: educational level, socioeconomic status and physical surroundings
• Describe the link between the determinants of health and the health disparities
• Describe how the social and political structures of society influence how health care is delivered to or restricted from those in need.
• Make recommendations for change that would help to alleviate the health disparity. Include recommendation for practice and recommendations on a social political level.
• You will write a paper and present your findings.
• APA format
Sources within the last 5 years. Research articles and peer reviewed articles are a must.
Include an annotated bibliography for 1 of the sources used.
