Decision Making

Decision Making

Decision-making is a cognitive process that allows individuals to make alternatives.  Various situations do happen and require people to make the right decisions (Doya & Michael, 2012). This discussion focus on the case study presented.

The symptoms of the problem would have been identified earlier to prevent the situation.   Symptoms are the variety signs that indicate that something is likely to happen. In this situation, the symptoms included the maintenance works that are going on. It was prudent for the participants in the room to be cautious because of the maintenance that was going on. This could have made the participant to be ready and to be prepared for any eventualities. They would have been cautious.  The cracks on the rooftop would also have send signal of a disaster and this would have made them to be cautious.

The potential root causes of the leak and waterfalls in the conference room are the repairs that were going on. This could have caused the leakage which eventually caused the problem. Another cause may be people with malice who colluded to interrupt the meeting because this problem only happened in the conference room and not the other rooms. Another likely root cause of the   problem may be a normal problem caused by wearing out of the rooftop. There is a likelihood that the room has not been repaired for a while and therefore because of this, the rooftop had developed some cracks that caused the leakage and the water falls.  This are options that are likely to come into ones mind as the puzzle of establishing the causes runs over the mind of the people.

Decision problem in this case can be, “is the cause of the leak and water fall as a result of the maintenance work on going?
