Summarise participant development models in order to identify the key markers of movement, technical and tactical development associated with children and young people at different ages and stages.

Use specified coaching principles and practices to facilitate the development of movement, technical and tactical skills of children and young people at different ages and stages

Brief:

Students will write a report entitled: The advantages and disadvantages of delivering a multi skills programme to children

Students will describe and evaluate the benefits and draw backs of using a multi skills approach to sport on children’s development. Students should also review multi skills coaching practices and its appropriateness for children at the fundamental, specialist and life long utilisation phase of development. (Gallahue,1996)

Criteria Section

Within the report the following aspects should be covered:

1. Explanation, analyses and evaluation of a wide range of multidisciplinary constraints that underpin holistic development in the fundamental, specialist and lifelong utilisation phases. 40%

2. Knowledge and understanding of the theories and principles that underpin existing frameworks and models of movement development and player pathways 20%

3. Key aspects of a multi skills approach to coaching sport and the implications this has on coaching practice. 30%

4. Report delivered in an accepted academic format 10%
