Children are a gift from God and so to speak, they deserve the best care. I am always disturbed to hear stories of child abuse and negligence from all over the world. Raising children even though a complex and a tedious task for the parents and the guardians it is a responsibility. My belief is that children are important members of the society and should be raised well by inculcating in them moral values despite providing them with the basic needs.

The way children are raised varies from one society to another. Some of the societies take the responsibility of raising a child as a personal one while others consider this a community responsibility. The experiences as a child also do vary from one person to another owing to various factors such as the economic level of the parents, the religious beliefs and the society norms among such. However, regardless of these experiences, children deserve to be nurtured well and given provisions of life to allow them grow. I am a staunch believer in the morals because I believe that this is what makes an individual and determines the destiny and the stability of the future generation. Therefore, inculcating these values is a responsibility that requires responsible parents. Parents must always be available to direct and to guide their children as they grow up. They must be available to tell them what they should do and not do to ensure that they grow up holding to good morals.

I remember the way my parents raised me up. I always admire the style and the commitment they showed to me. The love was superb and the quest to see me grow up into responsible adult was something that I would wish that all the parents across the world embrace. I felt the love and their compassion. They were always ready to listen to me and to help me with the various problems that I faced. For instance, they taught me etiquettes and how to live with others. These are some of the things that I still remember that my parents instilled in me and which have continued to help me in my life , whether in academics, workplace and in everything that I do. Not forgetting, they also provided me with all the necessities of life which enabled me to see life as a good thing and to treasure it. The spirit of hard work was also instilled in me as a child and this is what I want the parents and guardians to follow suit. Children need to be shown that they can also work and achieve positive results. Therefore, at home, they should be allowed to accompany the other family members to the farms and to other kinds of jobs. This will inculcate in them a positive attitude to work and as they grow up they will work hard in schools and even at their work place.

With the advancement of technology nowadays and increased cases of crime such as kidnappings, parents must also be very keen to ensure that these aspects do not occur to their children because they can have negative psychological impact to them. The children should not be allowed to watch pornographic materials on the internet. They should also be advised on how to approach strangers so that the risks of being misled are reduced.

Raising children can be a difficult task, but with positive attitude, it is a good experience. Parents should understand their responsibilities and endeavor to provide good leadership. The future of the children is based on how they are raised today. When the children are raised up well, the future of such children is deemed bright and this is the wish of all the parents. Therefore, for a good future, the task begins today. Parents should love, embrace and show the right direction to their children as this is the beginning of their success in education and even in their future careers. As my friend, I wish you all the best as you raise your children.
