Sports marketing

Sports marketing

First, I would make the sales team understand the various methodologies of sales that are at their disposal for use in marketing and selling tickets. This includes a range of activities such as using the internet and web sites, radio and television advertising, as well as telemarketing and personal selling (Beech and Chadwick, 2006). I would also make them understand that there is an important difference between ticket scalping and broking as ticket broking refers to the initial sale of tickets, whereas scalping refers to reselling of already bought tickets at a higher price when the deadline is fast approaching. Moreover, I will show to these salespersons the various strategies that exist for selling tickets, especially making advanced ticket sales and the need for competition during the ticket selling process (Beech and Chadwick, 2006).

Moreover, I will use existing data from the internet and other documented sources to teach the sales team about ticket processing methods some of which include internet and telephone orders, which refer to the act of using the internet or the telephone to make purchases by giving orders of the required items to the issuing company (Huete, 2004). The other method that they will also need to understand is the concept of complimentary tickets, which refer to tickets that they would need to give to some customers for free as a measure of good faith. Moreover, as Huete (2005) elaborates, I will show them using practical examples the idea of will call windows, where salespersons set a small window at the venue of a given baseball tournament and allow people to pick up tickets that had already been bought but not yet delivered. Finally, I would teach the sales team the importance of using advertisement space and media guide as a means of boosting sales ticket for the company.
