Toy planned happening
Development of infants is progressive. Infants aged between the ages of 2- 18 months have not yet developed their cognitive skills fully. They are however, able to coordinate their limbs and their bodies in relation to external objects. Furthermore, these categories of infants mostly learn new experiences through their senses. Therefore, the teachers or the people who guide these infants should be well informed on the learning process of the infants to provide affable in learning experiences. Toy planned happening is the best and preferred method to impact learning among the infants and stimulate their development.
The planned happening to introduce to this category of infants is toys that produce certain sound when pressed. For instance, a car toy that has a button that is pressed to produce a sound and different colors will be provided. The infants aged above eight months have developed strength in their limbs and therefore can press the bottom of the toy to produce a real vehicle sound and some lights.
The material required to ensure that this becomes a success is the purchase of a ready made toy car. The toy car is normally manufactured by different companies. They use various types of materials including plastics and other cheap and accessible raw materials. The toy car is fitted with buttons and energy battery that will allow production of sound when the bottom is pressed. The purchaser of the toy car will have to pay for the materials which will be bought from the producers and manufacturers. The space required for the infant to operate is small. The infant can hold the toy car and press a bottom to listen to a sound of a car, or can find a space either in the house or at the veranda where he can push the toy car on the ground.
The process will take place in the house as well as outside the house. The toy car is portable hence the infant will not have a hard time playing with it. This kind of toy is appropriate for the mobile infants. Infants begin to crawl at the age of 8 months and therefore, the toys will be applicable to those infants that have more than 8 months. Furthermore, these categories of infants are able to coordinate their limbs and use their senses well.
This planning will be able to promote cognitive development of the infants. The infant will be able to learn how to coordinate his limbs in touching and pressing the toy to produce light. This is an experience that the infant will be able to learn once the guardians or parents demonstrate to them. The child then will have to repeat the actions to perfect. These reported actions will help to develop the cognitive development of a child because the experience will allow the child to ponder on what causes the lighting and movement of the toy car when pushed. As a sign of the need to know the theory behind this lighting, the infant may destroy the toy car to find out what causes the lighting. This is a manifestation of development of cognitive among such infants. The quest to find out more on the way a situation or a car moves and produces light is a sign of development. Furthermore, it will enhance the motor skills of the infants because the infant will learn how to handle objects through pushing and pressing, therefore, an infant will have to benefit from the handling planning.
Before the car toy is provided to the infant, preparations will be done. This preparation will be concerned with creation of enough space in the house where the infant will play with the car toy. Therefore, I will have to reshuffle the arrangement of the house and allow a space that the infant will play.
In the preparation and making a decision to purchase the car toy, there are various safety considerations that will be upheld. One of the safety considerations will be based on the house where the infant will be playing with the car toy. The space must be enough to allow the infant humble time to move from one end to another. Second safety measures are to ensure that the floor is not slippery to cause slides to the infants. A slippery floor should be adjusted through provision of carpet to reduce the risks of the infant sliding and sustaining injuries. This safety measures will be directed to the toys itself. The material that the toy is made up off should not have negative effects to the infants. Infants are sensitive to taste and therefore, they will enter parts of the car toy in their mouths and this might cause health effects to them.
To alleviate these dangers, a step by step measures will be provided in the car toy planned happening. Before buying, I will have to consider the age of the infant and assess the capability of the infant to use the car toy. After this analysis, I will prepare the spaces and the areas that the infant will have to play and use the car toy. Third, I will visit different stores and purchase the car toy suitable for the infant. The infant will be given the car toy to play and explore it.
Cleanup activities in this planned planning will include providing enough space before the infant is given the toy. After play, the cleanup will include rearranging the areas and cleaning the area by collecting some of the pieces of debris that may be broken.
